The 19th Perth Brownies and Rainbows celebrated two great milestones adding up to 100 years of Girl Guiding in the parish.
The Brownies, for girls aged 7-11 were established in the parish 75 years ago, in 1941. The Rainbows, for girls aged 5-7 started in 1991 – 25 years ago this year.
Fr Bogdan celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving with members of the Guide Association – past and present. The life and service of Betty Reid, Brown Owl for 40 years at St John’s, was remembered and Mrs Kathleen Ogilvie, District Commissioner thanked all the leaders for their great service. She presented long service awards to Anne Mitchell and Ann-Marie Monaghan.
